Managed to get a sneak preview of the Picasso and Modern British Art exhibition that opens at Tate Britain today. Fascinating to see newspaper articles from the 1920/30′s describing Picasso’s work as first seen and Mayfair gallery invitations to previews of his work before his works went onto the ‘big’ galleries. If you are in the vicinity of Tate Britain in Pimlico it’s worth popping into.

Annie has pointed her camera away from celebrities in styled publications and turned it towards her fascination of evocative elements of American history. This body of work titled Pilgrimage has been published in a new book of the same title and is currently on show at Hamiltons Gallery in London from December 8th to January 20th.
The images are all digital shot over a period of 2 years from travels with her family and on her own around the world.
Here are links to some videos and press reports on the project:
BBC, The Telegraph, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Vogue

An online BBC magazine short film on Academy Award-winning filmmaker Errol Morris talking about iconic photographs.
Believing is seeing: Observations on the mysteries of photography
“Photographs are connected to the world and at the same time the moment they are taken they are cut free of the world as if we have torn a piece of reality out of context and they take on a life of their own.” – Errol Morris

Last night saw the launch private view of the Affordable Art Fair, (AAF), Battersea, London and the launch of JFP’s ‘Coastal’ series of black and white photographs at Will’s Art Warehouse stand. The founder Will Ramsey of Will’s Art Warehouse and AAF was present and JFP had the pleasure meeting him and exchanging local Highland notes.
AAF Battersea runs now through October 23rd. Well worth a visit.
